Dog Collar Info was a website idea that came to me when I was told by our vet that the dog collar we had been using was not only dangerous, but was probably pretty uncomfortable for our dog when we walked her.
I started wondering how many others were having the same problem that I had with choosing the correct dog collar, and decided that there should be a website with all the information categorized in one place. It took me a long time to find enough information where I could be happy that I was not over looking something that could potentially harm my dog.
Like most people, I had not thought much about the dog collar I chose when I purchased it. I found one that I thought was ‘good enough’ then I made sure it would fit and bought it. It was a simple black leather collar with a buckle and a loop for the leash, pretty basic, but it was cheap and looked good enough for me. After all, we have a German Shepherd, it’s not like she needed a big designer collar.
